I got out of my comfort zone of attending design and developer talks to listen to the business talks at WordCamp Los Angeles 2014 today. The greatest takeaway was listening to entrepreneurs discuss the economics of running businesses that rely strongly on WordPress and Open Source technologies.

Project Management which a designer / developer like myself would scoff turned out to actually expose me to time saving project management tips from Jeff Zinn, and Jennifer Bourn to work more efficiently. Jennifer discussed email automation with a personalized touched while Jeff focused on blocking out his work day in 2 hour blocks for specific projects or tasks.

Other talks discussed business growth, freelancing, budget management and client focused tips to enhance transparency and manage project scope.
