Trisquel 7 running my slightly customized XFCE4 desktop.

I’m a big fan of this distribution and run it on my System76 Lemur Ultra (2012). The Intel wifi card isn’t supported by a Libre kernel due to it’s proprietary nature, so I use an inexpensive USB adapter from Think Penguin when not plugged in to Ethernet.

Respecting your computing freedom while providing a user friendly multi-purpose OS makes it unique to other FSF endorsed distributions in that it’s based on Ubuntu and generally the easiest of the bunch to set up. Version 7 makes some amazing strides in usability fixing some of the glitchyness of past versions. However, there are still odd compatibility issues that I seem to run into. For instance as I write this I’m noticing WordPress is having some issues with copy and paste within the editor, this is probably an issue with my XFCE setup but it could also be a conflict within “Abrowser” based on Mozilla Firefox.

This distribution shines at respecting a users four essential freedoms and therefore belongs to the community without any corporate or governmental restrictions.

Overall I’d rate this at an 8 of 10 knocking off a few points for it’s default desktop being a bit unfriendly to customize which drove me to add XFCE.
